The government of Sindh in Karachi has made the decision to cancel all upcoming examinations due to the imminent arrival of the Very Severe Cyclonic System (VSCS) named Biparjoy. This cyclone is projected to make landfall between Karachi and Gujarat, India, on Thursday. The Assistant Commissioner of Karachi, Abid Qamar Shaikh, issued a notification stating that starting from June 14th, 2023, all exams, education seminars, summer camps, and education-related activities should be either canceled or rescheduled until the storm passes. The aim is to prevent any loss of life or inconvenience to the public. The notification also mentioned the possibility of the cyclone causing heavy rainfall and storms in the coastal areas of Karachi Division. As per the latest advisory from the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), the cyclone has been moving in a north-northwestward direction over the northeast Arabian Sea in the past six hours.
The Education Minister of Sindh has made an announcement regarding the schedule of the annual examinations for the 11th and 12th classes. The examinations for Intermediate HSSC Part 1 and Part 2 will commence on May 30, 2023, and the final paper will be held on June 22, 2023. Although the official date sheet has not been released by the Board of Intermediate Education Karachi yet, it will be announced in due course. Throughout the examinations, students will be required to adhere to the terms and conditions as well as the standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure the safety of both students and teachers. In order to prioritize the safety of students, the Government of Sindh has already conducted coronavirus tests for all examiners, teachers, and college staff.
